This is an estimate, not advice

Actualsum produces estimates of payroll withholding for general information. It is not tax, legal, payroll, accounting or financial advice, and using it does not create a professional relationship of any kind. Before making a decision that depends on these numbers, check your own pay stub and speak to a qualified professional.

Why your real paycheck may differ

Employers may use any of several IRS-approved withholding methods, and payroll systems apply rounding, local taxes, benefit splits, garnishments and mid-year changes that this calculator does not model. A difference between this estimate and your pay stub is normal, and your pay stub is the authoritative figure.

Accuracy and tax year

Rates are transcribed from primary sources for tax year 2026 and each state page shows the date they were last checked. Tax law changes, and publications are revised — we make no warranty that any figure is current, complete or correct at the moment you read it.

No affiliation

Actualsum is independent. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to the Internal Revenue Service, any state department of revenue, or any payroll provider. Names of government forms and agencies are used only to describe what the calculator models.

Limitation of liability

The site is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any loss arising from use of, or reliance on, anything on this site.
